Location & Access

WHERE FITZ CAMP IS LOCATED

Location and trail map to Fitz Camp

Fitz Camp is nestled at the base of Mount Fitz Roy, 7.5 km from the town of El Chaltén, directly along the main trail connecting town to the steep ascent of Laguna de los Tres, exactly 500 meters before reaching the Poincenot free campsite.

Between El Chaltén village and Poincenot, the trail has 8 marked stages numbered in ascending order.

Between stage 7 and stage 8 is the entrance to Fitz Camp, marked as: PRESTADORES DE SERVICIOS (Service Providers), as FITZ CAMP is an authorized concessionaire inside Los Glaciares National Park.

As an unmistakable landmark, the entrance gate is located just 3 meters before a wooden bridge (double handrail) bearing the sign: ONLY ONE (must be crossed strictly by one person at a time).
