Navigation & Crossing
across Lago del Desierto

One of South America's most spectacular and iconic border connections, sailing through the pristine glacial waters of Lago del Desierto and traversing the international boundary surrounded by untouched Patagonian wilderness.

We operate the crossing in both directions: we ferry travelers from El Chaltén towards Chile (Punta Sur ➔ Punta Norte) connecting to Candelario Mancilla and the Carretera Austral (Villa O'Higgins), and we also receive travelers arriving from Chile crossing into Argentina towards El Chaltén (Punta Norte ➔ Punta Sur).

A key strategic binational route for hikers, bikepackers, and adventurers from across the globe, allowing seamless continuation of major Patagonian trekking circuits in either direction without back-tracking.
